Kougars Take Two

 

      The Kishwaukee College baseball team used 14 hits to score 15 runs in the first game and stellar pitching in the second game, giving up just one unearned run, to sweep Highland College by the scores of 15-5 and 5-1, in the afternoon Arrowhead Conference double header.

      The Kougars came out on fire in the first game, scoring six runs in the first inning to lead 6-1. Their bats then went silent until the 5th inning. Up just 6-5, the Kougars erupted for four runs to lead 10-5 and scored five more in the sixth, to settle in to the final 15-5 margin.

      At the dish for the Kougars, Aneudy DeLacruz went 3-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored while Dylan Rice went 2-4 with 3 RBI, a double and a stolen base. In addition, Donte Albert, Brett Dowling and Gary Garcia all drove in two runs in the victory. On the hill, Donny Perdue got the victory, going four innings and allowing four earned runs.

      The second game started like the first, with Kishwaukee getting four runs in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Renny Tolentino was dominate on the mound, allowing just 3 hits in six innings and striking out 10 of the 21 batters he faced.

      Jeremy McCarty and Donte Albert each went 2-3 and Cooper Vinz drove in two runs. With the pair of victories, Kishwaukee College moves to 15-14 on the season.
