The Kishwaukee College baseball team traveled to Oakton College and came away with a 9-0 victory and a 9-2 loss.
Game 1 was controlled by an outstanding outing on the mound by freshman lefthander Matthew Chitwood. The 6'4", Miami native held Oakton College to two hits over six innings, while allowing no runs, raising his record to 4-2 on the season and lowering his ERA to 3.67.
At the plate Jeremy McCarty continued his hot streak with three hits, including two doubles and Gary Garcia added three hits, also with two doubles. Jermar Walton added two hits and Donte Albert stole a base and drove in three runs.
The second game was a bit of a different story, with Oakton College scoring three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Kishwaukee came back to score two runs in the top of the fourth, only to surrender three runs to Oakton in the bottom of the fourth, to trail 6-2. Oakton added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth for the final 9-2 margin.
Renny Tolentino took the loss on the mound, giving up six runs through four innings, with only three of the runs being earned.
David Salguiero, Jared Johnson and Jeremy McCarty all had two hits for the Kougars.
Kishwaukee currently stands at 18-15 on the season.
