Kishwaukee baseball kept up their winning ways with a two game Arrowhead Conference sweep of Highland College, by the scores of 5-0 and 5-2.
Strong pitching was the story in the first game of the double-header, with starter Austin Broyles going the distance, allowing only six hits through seven innings, while striking out seven. With the shutout, Broyles moves his record to 3-2 on the season.
At the plate for the Kougars, Aneudy DeLacruz was 2-3 with a double, Jermar Walton was 2-4 with a double, while driving in two runs and Brett Dowling and Jared Johnson each collected two hits.
The second game saw Highland College take a 2-0 lead into the top of the sixth inning, only to see Kishwaukee College get two runs of their own to tie the game at two. The score remained knotted at two until the top of the eighth inning when the Kougars erupted for 3 runs to account for the final margin of 5-2.
Jeremy McCarty went 2-4 with a triple, while driving in 3 runs and Donte Albert had two hits and drove in a run.
On the hill, Corey Nelson pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his second victory. With the victory, Kishwaukee moves to 17-14 on the season.
