The Kougars of Kishwaukee College had two strong pitching and defensive performances as they swept Prairie State College by the scores of 10-0 and 11-3.
Game 1 was a dominating performance by Victor Persad as he went six innings, striking out five batters and only allowing three hits to earn his first victory of the year in the shutout.
Offensively Brett Dowling was 3-3 with three runs scored and Emilio Medina and Jermar Walton each drove in two runs. Jared Johnson chipped in with two hits, an RBI and a double.
Game 2 saw the Kougars collect eleven runs on twelve hits, including four hits for extra bases. Jeremy McCarty went 3-5 with two doubles, two stolen bases and drove in five runs. Jared Johnson continued his hot day at the plate by going 2-3 with three runs scored, a triple, a stolen base and an RBI. Emilio Medina and David Salguiero also collected two hits each.
On the hill, Airesky Jerez got his second win on the season by pitching six innings and scattering eleven hits, while striking out six batters. Angel De Jesus came in and pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
With the sweep, the Kougars move to 27-18 on the year.
