Kishwaukee baseball coach Josh Pethoud announced that sophomore infielders Brett Dowling and Donte Albert have committed to continue their collegiate careers at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dowling hit .371 with 3 doubles and 8 RBI, and slugged .514 in 11 conference games and was named to the Arrowhead Conference All-Conference team.
Albert was named to the Arrowhead Conference Most Valuable Player in 2015 and also made the NJCAA Region IV All-Region Team. He hit .403 with 11 doubles and 7 triples while driving in 32 runs. In addition, he scored 43 runs and stole 31 bases, while having an on-base % of .530.
Missouri Baptist is an NAIA school that competes in the American Midwest Conference. The Spartans ended their 2015 season with an overall record of 43-13, and their sixth straight trip to the NAIA World Series Opening Round. They started the season as the #1 ranked team in the country.
These two signings mark the 6th and 7th Kougars to move on from the 2015 team.
