Starting pitching was the deciding factor in both games, as the Kishwaukee College Kougar baseball team beat Carl Sandburg College by the scores of 1-0 and 12-2.

On the hill in the first game, Aaron Paschal pitched seven scoreless innings, surrendering just four hits and walking just one batter. With the shutout, Paschal moves to 3-2 on the year.

At the plate, the Kougars managed six hits, led by two from both Cooper Vinz and Jeremy McCarty. McCarty went 2-3 and drove in the games' only run, to break a 0-0 tie in the 6th inning.

The second game saw the Kougars tied 1-1 going into the fourth inning when they would score three runs to go ahead 4-1. A single run in the 5th and 6th inning and a six spot in the 7th inning accounted for the final score.

Austin Broyles went six innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs, while striking out two. Devon Branch came in to pitch a scoreless seventh inning.

Jeremy McCarty stayed hot, going 3-4 while driving in a run. Aneudy DeLacruz also collected three hits with a double. Jared Johnson, Donte Albert, Cooper Vinz and David Salguiero all had two hits with Vinz and Albert driving in three runs each.
