Kougars Pull Out Two Victories

Kishwaukee College softball triumphed twice in a two-game set against Moraine Valley by the scores of 7-3 and 4-3.

The first game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 6th inning when Kishwaukee erupted to score four runs. Steller pitching in the seventh closed the door on Moraine Valley for the 7-3 victory. At the plate, Peyton Marten and Emma Fillmore were both 3-3 with Marten and Jessica Townsend driving in two runs each. Two of Fillmore's three hits were doubles.

Pitching for the Kougars was outstanding with Jasmine Kerley going the distance and allowing three runs in seven innings. With the victory she raises her record on the year to 17-8.

The second game saw the Kougars down 3-2 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, only to see Kishwaukee score two runs to take a 4-3 lead. Moraine Valley was shut out in the seventh to end the game. Kishwaukee only managed five hits in the contest with Christina Williams getting three of them. The sophomore infielder was a single short of hitting for the cycle as she had a double, triple and a homerun. She also drove in two of the Kougars' four runs. Sabrina Killeen also drove in two runs for Kishwaukee.

McKenna Marcinkowski pitched a complete game, allowing three runs, only two of which were earned, on five hits, to notch her sixth victory.
