Kishwaukee College men's basketball player Nygel Drury, a 6' 5" sophomore forward from Madison Lafollette High School, has signed to play for Valley City State University in North Dakota next season. Valley City is an NAIA University that competes in the North Star Athletic Association Conference and has won at least 20 games in four of the last seven seasons.
"Nygel is a skilled forward who can play both around the basket as well as face-up from the perimeter, which makes him hard to defend. He was a transfer that came in and in no time blended with our players to become a valuable piece of our championship team. He made his teammates better and also made their jobs easier with the way he played and competed", said Kishwaukee men's basketball head coach Rob Buss.
Nygel started 17 games during 2014-15 season, averaging 10ppg and 7.1rpg while shooting exactly 50% from the floor for the Kougars. Drury was a boost for Kishwaukee during the stretch run on the team's way to the 2015 Arrowhead Conference Championship and 2015 Region IV Championship. His effort helped Kishwaukee make the "Elite-Eight" at the NJCAA National Tournament with 16pts and 9rebs in an 82-68, 1st round victory over Lansing Community College.
Drury completed the season with a total of 339 points, 240 rebounds, 39 assists, 22 blocked shots, and 21 steals while shooting 50% from the floor and 71.5% from the free throw line for the Kougars. He is the 4th member of the 2014-15 team to sign so far this post-season.
