Kishwaukee College Rolls into Next Round of the National Tournament

The Kougars of Kishwaukee College (29-5) faced off against Lansing Community College out of Michigan (23-9) for their opening round game in the 2015 National Tournament and it was a difficult battle for the Kougars.

Trailing for the entire first half, the Kougars picked up their defense and started getting key contributions on the offensive end from their sophomores in the second half.  Sophomore Juwan Starks knocked down a 3- pt. shot at the 18 minute mark of the second half to cut the Lansing lead to two at 44-42.  Sophomores Andre Harris, Nygel Drury and Juwan Starks scored three straight baskets to give the Kougars the lead at 48-44.  From there, the Kougars continued to battle and settled into a 82-68 victory.

Starks who scored 30 points, was one of four players in double figures for Kishwaukee, joining him was Nygel Drury (16), Yashua Trent (15) and Andre Harris (10), who also had a team-high 11 rebounds.
