Kish WSB sweep Sauk Valley in first Arrowhead DH of season

March 25, 2026- The Kishwaukee Kougars earned an impressive sweep over Sauk Valley Community College on Tuesday, claiming victories in both games of a high-energy doubleheader.  In game one, the Kougars secured a 10-4 win behind a dominant offensive performance and strong pitching. Kishwaukee wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first inning, as Kaelyn Williams tripled to drive in two runs, followed by an RBI single from Lilli Delhotal. The momentum continued into the second inning, where Avery Boehne, Delhotal and Allison Abell each contributed hits to extend the early lead.  Williams earned the complete-game victory in the circle, allowing eight hits and four runs over seven innings while striking out six and issuing no walks.  Offensively, the Kougars totaled 17 hits as Delhotal, Paezleigh Hudgin and Abell each recorded three hits, while Madison Hallaron, Boehne and Sami Simms added multiple hits apiece.

Game two turned into an offensive battle, but the Kougars outlasted Sauk Valley for a 16-13 victory. Both teams were productive at the plate, combining for 35 hits, including 17 by Kishwaukee.  Madison Hallaron led the charge with a standout performance, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and two singles. The Kougars jumped out early, taking a 3-2 lead in the first inning thanks to a Hallaron double and a two-run single by Allison Abell.  After briefly losing the lead, Kishwaukee responded in the middle innings. The Kougars tied the game in the third on a sacrifice fly by Georgia Gallardo and a triple from Lillie Gebel before reclaiming control in the fourth. Key hits from Kaelyn Williams, Hallaron, Abell and Gebel fueled another scoring surge.  The Kougars broke the game open in the fifth inning, plating six runs on four hits. Highlights included RBI singles from Avery Boehne, Hallaron and Gebel, along with aggressive baserunning that contributed to additional runs.  Boehne earned the win in relief, pitching five innings while allowing six runs (three earned) and striking out five without issuing a walk. Gebel and Hallaron each collected four hits, while Gebel and Abell drove in four runs apiece. Williams and Brooke Jackson also contributed multiple hits.

The Kougars (11-5 overall, 2-0 in the Arrowhead Conference) will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup against Madison College on Wednesday.
