Kougars drop two to RVC

March 22, 2026 - The Kishwaukee College softball team finally got back on the field Sunday at home, after weather had postponed almost a week's worth of games, to battle Rock Valley College. In game one, the Kougars fell 13-1. Kishwaukee struck first in the bottom of the opening inning when Kaelyn Williams delivered an RBI double to put the Kougars on the board early. However, Rock Valley responded in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run home run to take a 2-1 lead and maintain control for the remainder of the game.  Williams took the loss in the circle, pitching four innings while allowing eight runs (six earned) on five hits, with two strikeouts and five walks. Offensively, Williams led the Kougars with the lone RBI, going 1-for-3 at the plate. Madison Hallaron, Allie Abell, Avery Boehne, and Sami Simms each added a hit in the effort.

In game two, Kishwaukee again battled but came up short in a 13-5 loss. Rock Valley scored three runs in the first inning.  Avery Boehne took the loss for the Kougars, pitching three innings and allowing 13 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits while striking out one. The Kougars showed more offensive production in the second game, with Allison Abell, Georgia Gallardo, and Sami Simms each collecting two hits. Makenzie Mann and Simms each drove in two runs to lead Kishwaukee at the plate.

The Kougars will look to bounce back as they return to action on Tuesday at home against Sauk Valley Community College in their first Arrowhead Conference games.
