Kish starts OW2 comp while Munoz and Bryant start well in Smash

October 2, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College Esports team competed in both Overwatch and Super Smash Brothers Wednesday evening.  Here are ther results:

SUPER SMASH BROS -Wyatt Bryant was able to decisively win his first match against Northwest Florida State College 3-0 in a best of five series. In his second match of the evening, Terra State Community College returned the favor, defeating Bryant 3-0. Bernardo Munoz was able to win his Contender series match 4-3 in a best of seven series against Iowa Western Community College.

OVERWATCH - the Kougars demonstrated their growth from last year. Roles were picked with confidence. Comms were clear and direct. The Kish OW2 team played just that, as a team. Northwest Florida State College came prepared to battle however and quickly took the first to games in the best of five series. They also brought experience to the table ready to compete. NWFSC ended up taking game three and winning the match. The outcome was not what the Kougars wanted, but did walk away from the match optimistic. Austin Salters stated halfway through the games, "we have played better tonight than we did all last year!". The team will bounce back next Wednesday when they play Jackson College.
