Kougs fall twice in close games Thursday

March 19, 2026 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team finally had a break in the weather Thursday and travelled to Purdue NW University to play Prairie State in a doubleheader.   Unfortunately a walk-off left Kish on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when a solo home run to right field gave PSC the win.  The Kougars opened the scoring in the third after Nick Price doubled, scoring one run. Prairie State tied the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.  A triple by Grant Bruen gave Kishwaukee the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth.  PSC tied the game at two in the bottom of the sixth off a defensive error.  Alex Prince was the starting pitcher for Kish. The third quality start for Prince this early season as he scattering eight hits and allowed three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking one.  Jonathan Hartline, Bruen, Jack Okun, Caleb Barth, Jakob DeLeo, and Price each collected one hit for the Kougs. 

In game two, the Kougars got on the scoreboard in the top of the second. Prairie State took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Russell Butitta led things off on the bump for Kish and allowed four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out none and walking four. Jack Swedo followed on the mound allowing just 1 ER.   Caleb Barth, Jakob DeLeo, and Johnny Stasiak each collected one hit for Kishwaukee.

Kish (2-11 overall) will be on the road again Friday to take on Milwaukee Area Tech in a doubleheader starting at noon with the first game.
