April 28, 2025 - With the wind gusting Monday, the Kishwaukee College baseball team battled back from a lopsided game one loss to put up a lopsided win on the Oakton CC Owls in game two. In the afternoon opener, a big third inning by OCC blew the game open.  Highlights for Kish were Brock Metzger hitting a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth. Will Baumgartner, Dalton Rutherford, Jackson Young, Lenox Estremera, and Metzger each collected one hit as Estremera and Metzger each drove in one run for Kish.  Alex Prince stepped on the mound first for the Kougars and surrendered just six hits and five earned runs, striking out three and walking two.

The finale of the day was by run rule in five innings with a victory for Kish. Jack Okun drove in four runs on two hits to lead Kishwaukee past Oakton. Okun hit a home run to left field in the second inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring two.  Kish scored in the bottom of the first, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Bryce Feit that drove in three.  The Kougars added five more runs in the bottom of the second inning on two hits. An error scored two runs, Okun homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Daelen Figueroa doubled, scoring one run.  Okun doubled in the third, scoring two runs, Will Baumgartner doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored two runs.  Sam Genslinger went the distance on the bump for the Kougs with a stat line of nine hits and five runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Jackson Breaux stepped on the hill first for Oakton Owls College Baseball. Kish had 13 hits in the game. Baumgartner, Okun, Figueroa, and Feit each collected two hits for the Kougars as the team also stole three bases.

Kishwaukee will host Rock Valley College on Wednesday in a doubleheader before completing the regular season on Friday with a single nine inning game versus Waubonsee (weather permitting) with first pitch slated or 1:00 pm.
